about the art.
It started with a blank space. I love experimenting with different styles & adding pieces of art to my home that I have made myself to add personality to the space.
I made my first wall hanging when I was trying to incorporate a more bohemian style in my home. I wanted to fill a wall in my living room with a unique piece of art that would be a real focal point. I adored the end result & how the wall hanging added more depth & texture to the room. I have now made numerous pieces, some of which still hang in my own home & some in the beautiful homes of others.
Wall hangings are a perfect addition to any space! They complement any style whilst adding a cool modern bohemian vibe & each piece is one of a kind. More information can be found here. Let’s create.
about the interiors.
We received the keys to our new home & renovation project in September 2013. A modest, mid-terraced cottage situated in a small village in Weardale, County Durham...a beautiful area, if you have never visited, you should! I'll have the kettle on.
An Art & Design student in days gone by, this renovation re-ignited a creative spark in me that had been dormant for quite some time. Achievable & affordable interior design is what drives & inspires me most. I enjoy thrifty decor & styling & I love a D.I.Y challenge! Our home is filled with pre-loved & up-cycled finds & results of spontaneous thrifty ideas that (thankfully!) mostly turned out...
I started a blog to share our renovation journey. This is a place where I will share our renovation experiences, what inspires me, DIY & decor projects & what has become my obsession with all things interior. I have been featured in Homestyle Magazine, Mollie Makes & by Topology Interiors & Houzz. I hope that I can offer some insight into the reality of renovating on a budget & some inspiration along the way.
